The Zimbabwe Transformative Party is a God driven transformative agenda for Zimbabwe. It owes its existence to the Almighty God in whose hands all the affairs of men including politics and governance lie. This is contrary to distorted and false belief among some religious pundits that politics is not for the religious man! Surely the King of kings cannot superintend over all the other affairs of men and leave out the rulership of His people to the devil! The Zimbabwe Transformative Party believes that absolutely nothing under the sun is not subject to or under the purview of the Almighty God. As such trying to disassociate the governance of people from God is one of the tragedies humanity has tried to create for itself. The Zimbabwe Transformative Party is therefore God’s deliverance plan for Zimbabwe analogous to the deliverance of yesteryear Israel from Egyptian bondage by Moses and Aaron.
ZTP is not hiding from anyone the fact that the Almighty God has truly heard the prayers of Zimbabwe’s citizenry and has thus sent it as executors of his deliverance plan. We are his vessels ready to execute this plan on his behalf. The Almighty God is the author of this project. Lest some may in the futility of their thinking try to fight against this mission in human terms. Such an action will not only fail but demonstrate lack of wisdom and expose the short-sightedness of such players.
Pursuant to that, the Zimbabwe Transformative Party is calling upon all Zimbabweans from all backgrounds who share the vision and belief that as a nation we need to turn to the Almighty God for our deliverance to join hands under the leadership of Mutumwa Dhaikoro! Zimbabwe can no longer continue to perish due to lack of wisdom. Our motherland needs a God fearing leadership to wise up for it is written: “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all those who practice it have a good understanding.”{Ps 111:10 ESV} A God fearing leadership is one which is peace loving, which respect the sanctity of human life, not violent, willing to listen to sensible or logical thinking, willing to forgive, full of good produce, unbiased and free from pretence or deceit. As such the fear of the Almighty God is central to peace, tolerance, unity, justice, transparency, stability, personal freedom and economic prosperity.
OUR POSITION ON MARRIAGE
a) The ideal family set up is established in the book of Genesis, “ Therefore, a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.” [Gen. 2:24].Marriage is a covenant [Prov. 2:17; Mal. 2:14]. Thus Paul’s teaching in Ephesians 5:25-32 is grounded on this principle. The union of a man and his wife makes them one unit. This oneness is consummated in sexual intercourse.
b) Jesus Christ too appeals to Gen. 1:27 and Gen. 2:24 when he taught about marriage [Matt.19:4-6]. Thus one man one wife is the ideal situation for any God fearing religion. If a church leader is asked to be a husband of only one wife [1 Tim.3:2; Titus 1:6]; what about their followers? Aren’t church leaders’ role models? Paul told the Thessalonians that he came not only in word, but in word and deed [1 Thess. 2:10].
c) The prophet Jeremiah is taken out of context. Jeremiah sent the letter from Jerusalem to the surviving elders of the exiles, and to the priests, and all the people. He wrote, “Build houses and live in them; plant gardens and eat their produce. Take wives and have sons and daughters; take wives for your sons, and give your daughters in marriage, that they may bear sons and daughters; multiply there; and do not decrease. But seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the LORD on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare [Jer. 29:5-7]. False prophets were promising a quick return of the exiles to Jerusalem from Babylon, contrary to God’s plan that they would spend 70 years in exile. So, 70 years was a time long enough that the exiles should plan for family lives—marry wives and husbands and reproduce in abundance, live in their cities, farm crops etc.
